What is LiveFrame?
LiveFrame is an app that turns your Apple device (iPad, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV) into a digital photo frame.
Where do I get it?
Download LiveFrame from the Apple App Store Today!
How does it work?
LiveFrame sources photos from your device, online photo sharing sites, and your social networks to create a personal, customizable photo feed.
What versions of iOS does LiveFrame support?
iOS versions 9.3.5/9.3.6 and up – One of LiveFrame’s main goals is to turn old devices into photo frames! We will continue to support LiveFrame for devices as far back as iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 for as long as possible.
Can I install LiveFrame on an original iPad running iOS 5.1.1?
LiveFrame was originally supported on iOS 5.1.1 but it has since been discontinued. However, if you download LiveFrame to a device running iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 and up, you can then install the last supported version of LiveFrame for iOS 5.1.1 through iTunes on the device. If you need further assistance please Contact Us!
Do I need to sign up to use LiveFrame?
No. You do not need to create an account to use LiveFrame. LiveFrame uses your existing photo sharing and social network accounts (and those of your friends and family) to source photos.
What photo sources can I add? (eg. social networks, photo sharing accounts)
In addition to your device photos, you can add your iCloud/Shared Albums, Google Photos, Dropbox, Facebook, Flickr, and Instagram accounts.
What if I am not signed up to any social networks?
You can still view photos from your device or add public photos from users on Flickr by searching for their user name or email.
I want to add photos from a different source. How do I make this happen?
We plan to add new photo sources on a regular basis. Contact Us directly to let us know what sources you would like to see added.
How do I add users/accounts?
See our “Getting Started” page in the About section.

The Weather is in an undesirable location during the slideshow. Can I move it to a new location?
You can simply drag the Weather using your finger anywhere on the screen while the slideshow is playing. For more info watch our instructional video here.
How do I select a specific album(s) to display photos from?
Press the settings icon in the bottom left corner on the main screen. From there you can select “Custom Albums”. After selecting “Custom Albums”, arrows “>” will appear next to your user accounts. Press the user account to display and select the specific albums that you would like to display photos from. For more information watch our instructional video here.
I pushed the ‘play slideshow’ button, but there was no slideshow?
Check which timeframe you have selected – if you have selected ‘Week’, perhaps your contacts have not uploaded any photos in the last week. Try selecting ‘Month”, “Year”, “All”, or “Custom”.
Still no slideshow?
Do any of your contacts have a little “!” symbol beside them? You may need to reauthorize your accounts (for security reasons, your social networks may require you to do this periodically). Press the “!” and follow the instructions provided.
I updated my device to a new iOS and LiveFrame stopped working. What can I do?
Please try to delete LiveFrame and reinstall it. Your purchase can be restored after reinstalling LiveFrame. Sometimes LiveFrame requires updates to support new iOS versions – If LiveFrame does not work after reinstalling it, please Contact Us so that we can fix it!
Facebook FAQ:
Why are all my Facebook friends not available to add as contacts?
For privacy reasons, Facebook only allows a third-party app to access content from users who have authorized it. If you want to view photos from your friends, you can invite them to download the LiveFrame app, or they can authorize the app here.
Why does LiveFrame want to access my Status Updates?
People often post photos in their Status Updates.
Why does LiveFrame want to access my friends list?
LiveFrame is better with friends! If you want to view all the photos that your Facebook friends have posted in your photo feed, we need access to the list so that you can add them as users.
Why does LiveFrame want to access my Photos?
This is where most people store their photos on Facebook – in albums.
Why does LiveFrame want to Post on my Wall?
LiveFrame is better with friends (didn’t we already say that?)! Because Facebook now requires every user to authorize an app before it can access their information, this is the easiest way for you to request that your friends authorize LiveFrame so that you can view their photos. We promise not to post anything on your behalf!
Instagram FAQ:
Can I display Instagram Photos by search for specific hashtags?
Unfortunately not – Instagram removed the ability for third-party applications to search photos by hashtags.
Flickr FAQ:
I cannot log in to my Flickr account on devices running iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6. What can I do?
For security reasons, Flickr has disabled account logins using iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 devices. This includes using the Safari browser on the device. Only public user content can be viewed on Flickr using iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6.
Dropbox FAQ:
I cannot log in to my Dropbox account on devices running iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6. What can I do?
For security reasons, Dropbox has disabled account logins using iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 devices. Good News However – You can download the Dropbox App to the device and LiveFrame can use it to log you in. One Catch – The Dropbox App is no longer supported for iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 devices. Good News Once again – If you install or have installed the Dropbox app on a device that is currently supported, you can then log into your iTunes account on the iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 device and download the last compatible version of the Dropbox App. You can find the Dropbox App under the “Purchases” tab at the bottom of the iTunes/App Store on the iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 device. If you have problems with this procedure, please Contact Us to help!
Google Photos FAQ:
I cannot log in to my Google Photos account on devices running iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6. What can I do?
For security reasons, Google has disabled account logins using iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6 using JavaScript. Good News However – You can launch Safari (ensure that you are not in a private browsing window) on the device and navigate to https://accounts.google.com/InteractiveLogin?nojavascript=1 in the URL search bar. After the Google login screen appears, log in as you normally would. When you have successfully logged in, launch LiveFrame and start the Google Photos login process. Your user will be logged in and you will not need to enter your credentials. You can select your username from the list and continue normally.
